The building

A barn from the mid-19th century

The Eggerhaus barn is a traditional farm building of the Alpine cultural landscape. Hay, harvest and farm tools were stored here; it was part of everyday farm work. The plain, functional timber construction follows regional building forms and the climate.

The move

Taken down, rebuilt, archway, extension

The barn dates from the middle of the 19th century. In 2007/08 it became available, was dismantled and rebuilt next to the Eggerhaus. In 2009 a brick archway was added to link house and barn, modelled on the old farmyard entrance. An extension with toilets, kitchenette and storage followed in 2017, and an oak plank floor in 2020.

Today

Concerts, festivals, celebrations

Today the barn has been carefully adapted for events: concerts, festivals and private celebrations for up to 100 guests – with beer-tent benches, round tables or laid for a feast.
