What we care about
We want to give people interested in history an insight into the building and living culture of the 17th to 19th centuries and preserve it for the future. Through guided tours, exhibitions and events we support cultural life and make the Eggerhaus a place where people meet.

About us
Founded on 14 December 1995 as the “Association for the Rescue and Preservation of Historic Building Culture in the Municipality of Altmünster” and known as “Kulturverein Eggerhaus” since 2002, the association looks back on more than 30 years of voluntary work: building, restoring and organising, with countless events that have made the Eggerhaus a lively meeting place.
The unexpected death of long-standing chairman Hansjörg Franzelin was a deep loss. After him, Helmut Weiser, Mayor Hannes Schobesberger and Georg Pangerl led the association. Since August 2025 another founding member, Mag. Friedrich Spießberger, has been chairman.
