Today, most have disappeared, though a few have been revived as garden sheds or holiday cottages. With his richly illustrated book, Dr. Dimt provides an informative look at this essential facet of rural building culture. The Eggerhaus granary is also featured.

The book provides expert insights into the carpentry trade and domestic culture of the 17th and 18th centuries.
