About the event
The ORF Long Night of Museums 2026 takes place on Saturday, October 3rd . In Upper Austria, numerous cultural institutions will open their doors from 6:00 PM to 1:00 AM. On this occasion, the Eggerhaus will also offer interested visitors insights that are otherwise hidden.
Eggerhaus – Museum of Historical Building and Living Culture
The Eggerhaus, moved to its current location in 1995 and expanded to include other historic buildings, is also transformed into an extraordinary open-air museum of lifestyle, building and living culture of the 17th to 19th centuries by its well-preserved regionally typical building components and the approximately 300-year-old original furniture.
Guided tours of the house offer insights into its history, construction, and everyday life.
The rescue of the Eggerhaus
A film documents the demolition and faithful reconstruction of the historic building and pays tribute to the commitment of numerous volunteers.
